SITE CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT LEADER (CI)
The overall purpose of this position is to drive, deploy and manage Continuous Improvement initiatives at the local level. This position will work closely with the regional CI leader to deploy an operating system within the site that is consistent with other Opto sites and with meeting business objectives. This position will report solid line to the Opto SBU CI Director with a “dotted line” relationship to the Site Leader of the candidate’s home site.
Jobs & Responsibilities :
* Deploy Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing initiatives within the respective site
* Provide leadership in the areas of Six Sigma and Lean to mentor site teams to deliver results
* Assist in developing site process improvement goals and objectives and coordinate and champion activities to meet or exceed those goals
* Coordinate the measurement, tracking and reporting of PQP savings impact for site
* Lead periodic site continuous improvement reviews both internally and for regional roll up
* Organize, host and manage logistics for the site RTE
* Partner with site leadership team to foster ownership and buy in of CI activities within the site.
* Train site resources in the areas of Six Sigma Green Belt and Lean implementation
* Create contingency plans where needed to ensure achievement of site PQP targets
* Become the “resident expert” for all Continuous Improvement activities within the site
Essential Knowledge and Skills :
* An undergraduate degree in engineering or a technical discipline is required with minimum 2 years of manufacturing experience.
* MBA degree is desirable.
* A solid understanding of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing philosophies is desired.
* A sincere belief in the viability of these concepts and the ability to communicate and demonstrate this to others is necessary.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on coaching and influencing others are required along with proficient skills in Minitab, Word, Powerpoint and Excel.
* Certification as a Six Sigma Master Black Belt, Black Belt or Lean expert certification is desired along with previous experience in an operations leadership or similar role.
