Our client is a leading player in the Marine / Shipbuilding industry. They are currently looking for a suitably qualified candidate for the position Construction Manager (Shipbuilding).
Responsibilities:
- Develops a cost-effective plan and schedule for completion of project
- Selects and coordinates work of subcontractors working on various phases of the project.
- Oversees performance of all trades and reviews engineering drawings to make sure that all specifications and regulations are being followed.
- Responsible for proper administration of construction contracts and for obtaining all necessary permits to work
- Supervises on site, reviews reports, checks on any reported difficulties, and corrects any safety violations or other reported deficiencies
- Tracks and controls construction schedule and associated costs to achieve completion of project within time and monies allocated.
- Reports to Project Manager about progress and any necessary modifications of plans that seem indicated
Requirements:
*Degree in relevant Engineering discipline
*Minimum 5 years of working experience within the marine/ offshore industry
*Demonstrate team leadership, management and people development skills.
*High level of technical knowledge
*In-depth knowledge of Construction & Engineering
*Ability to work calmly under pressure.
*Strong communication (face to face, telephone and email), problem solving, *negotiation and time management skills
